GIBSON is built to be enjoyed without giving anything up. This page explains, in plain English, what that means.

No accounts, no personal data

GIBSON has no sign-up, no login and no user accounts. We do not collect, store or process your email address, phone number, date of birth, or any other personal information. There is no password because there is nothing to log in to.

Your Predictor picks stay on your device

Predictions you make in the Predictor are saved in your device's local storage so they're still there next time you open the app. If you do nothing else, they never leave your device and we can't see them.

If you join the leaderboard

The leaderboard is optional and off unless you tap “Join”. If you do join, three things are stored on our server:

An anonymous identifier. A random code your browser generates for itself, like a3f2c1d4-…. It isn't derived from you, your device, your phone number or anything else — it's just a random number, and it's the only thing tying your picks together.
A display name, if you choose one. Whatever you type in the box. Pick your real name, a nickname, or something daft — it's up to you, and we'd suggest not using your full real name.
Your predictions and your score. The scorelines you picked, and the points they earned. Points are worked out on our side from the real results; your device never tells us your score.

That is the complete list. No email address, no account, no password, no location, no contacts, no advertising identifier, and nothing that tells us who you are.

Because there is no account, there is also no recovery: if you clear your browser data you lose the identifier, and we have no way to reconnect you to your old picks. Tapping “Leave” removes the identifier and name from your device.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which parts of GIBSON get used. It is anonymised and cookie-free — it does not identify you or track you across other sites.

League data

Tables, fixtures and results are fetched from public data providers. Those requests carry no data about you.

Membership and tip payments

If you take out a GIBSON membership or leave a tip, payment is handled entirely by Ko-fi under Ko-fi's own privacy policy. GIBSON never sees or stores payment details.

No ads, nothing sold

GIBSON shows no adverts, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone.

All ages

GIBSON asks for no personal information, so it is suitable for users of all ages. The one thing anybody can type is a leaderboard display name, which is optional — choose something that isn't your full real name and you have told us nothing about yourself at all.
